Follow the King

When God spoke the Ten Commandments or Ten Words, He was doing so much more than just giving the law to His people and requiring their obedience. Yahweh took a bride and placed His name on His people. 

The foundation of the commandments of God is the covenant with God. Allow the covenant relationship to move you to celebrate whose you are—and let that reality shape who you are.

The Ten Commandments are more than rules to live by. They are marriage vows that define the character and values of Yahweh—and what He wants to be important to His bride.

The people of God are far from perfect, but Jesus is committed to walking with them. He works through broken vessels to bring healing and wholeness to His church.

How is it possible that a group of sinful people can gather together and sing of spending eternity in the presence of the perfect, sinless Creator of the world? How do sinners call the perfectly holy God their Father? How do those who deserve to face the eternal wrath of God experience present blessings—and await even greater blessings to come?

Only because the Christ, our Rock and King, suffered the consequences for the failures of His people. 

Yahweh does not test His people to see if they are worthy of His gifts and grace—rather, He tests His people to see if they recognize Him as worthy to obey. 

God is more concerned with our experience on the journey (becoming who we should be) than our arrival at the destination (getting where we are going).

 

The echoes of Yahweh's salvation through the Red Sea point us to Genesis (new creation), the Gospels (new revelation), and Revelation (new devotion). 

Remembering God’s past provision inspires trust to walk God’s present path.

The firstborn is not about position—it is about mission. It is through the firstborn [bechor] that the values, morals, and lifestyle of a family are displayed to their world.

What does it mean that Yahweh hardened Pharaoh's heart? Did he lose his free will? Does God choose who responds to Him and who doesn't? The reality is that the work of God in our lives will either bring direction or devastation—it all depends on how we react to the revealing of God.
